A warmer and sunnier day greets the teams on Day 2. The atmosphere builds and the co-ed team competitors are prepping for their moments of glory. The spectating teams provide friendly banter, support and critique to the performing teams with a general feeling that everyone wants everyone to do well. Occasionally, loud cheers fill the air amidst the cracking tunes and sounds of steel clanging against steel. Some team members are nervous and apprehensive about tomorrow, with most worry being placed on track. Hopefully being able to choose their own wood will help the event go as well as possible. The saw teeth seem problematic for everyone - lubricating the spikes seems to help. Alex (Sandvik Captain) is hoping for rain as that would add weight to the coal for the muck and give us advantage. Drill practice for the two teams improved once they were more familiar with the equipment – keeping the air leg closer and wedged under to control it. One team had a re-drill request as one chap’s long sleeve t-shirt was wrapped up in the drill. Thankfully he was okay but the judges has now declared no gloves or sleeves will be allowed. Overall Co-Ed rankings 3rd = Wombats 2nd = Nippers 1st = Speculators
