International Mining Games 2019
The 41st International Mining Games were held at University of Nevada, Reno, USA 20-23rd March 2019. With seven gruelling events in all, three teams represented Camborne School of Mines.

The International Mining Games sees teams from Mining Schools across the world compete in 7 events of traditional mining methods in order to commemorate those who have lost their lives in industry and preserve those traditional methods for many years to come.
​
Part of the University of Exeter, Camborne School of Mines offers the only remaining Mining Engineering degree in the United Kingdom. Camborne School of Mines has been producing Mining Engineers for 130 years.

Meet the Teams

CSM Mens A (Sandvik): Jay Innes (Capt.), Lee Rowley, Bryn Llewellyn, Harry Atkinson, Luc Phillips, Sandy Stewart

CSM Womens (Deswik): Louise Cross (Capt.), Natasha Midgley, Millie Scherewode, Alex Hutchings, Molly Gordon, Hannah Matheson

CSM Mens B (Padley & Venables): Mike Coppin (Capt.), Josh Shaw, Ben Mantell-Jolly, Robert Cock, Tom Burkinshaw, Curtis French
RESULTS
​
Team Sandvik (CSM Mens A) received 2nd Survey and 3rd Muck. Overall placed 7th in the Mens division.
​
Team Deswik (CSM Womens) received 3rd Track and placed 6th overall in the Womens division.
​
Team P&V (CSM Mens B) provided a good set of results - even beating Sandvik in a couple of events - finally placed 8th in the Mens division. This team was comprised mainly of Fresher's who will no doubt use this experience for the 2020 competition.
